Senior Big Data Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Big Data Developer to join our Corporate Banking technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale applications that support international cash management and back-office banking operations. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Technical Leads, and fellow developers to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Big Data technologies.

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.

• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.

• Build and enhance Big Data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Storm, and Kafka.

• Participate in system design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and software deliverables.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions.

• Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, and software quality improvement initiatives.

• Follow established software development standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 8 years of experience in Java/J2EE application development.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Big Data technologies.

• Strong programming skills in Java (Java 8 or above), Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.

• Experience developing RESTful web services.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.

• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, and Storm.

• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, HBase, and MongoDB.

• Familiarity with Git, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale distributed systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Apache Flink, Apache Ignite, Redis, or Amazon S3.

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD automation.

• Experience with Kibana and Cucumber.

• Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Experience in banking, financial services, or cash management systems.
