Job Description
Responsibilities: • To perform A&D, IBM AS400/iSeries application development, SIT, UAT and post-production support for bank quarterly release items and Project changes for Credit applications. • to enhance system functionality by writing efficient, scalable, and well-documented code while ensuring seamless integration with modern technologies. • contribute to business process automation, system optimization, and application modernization while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to maintain system stability and performance.
Requirements: Education: · Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field. · At least 6years’ relevant experience preferably in a Finance Institution. Essential: · Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG/COBOL-based applications.
- Setup libraries, files, and collaborate with the security team on authorities
·Manage job scheduling, backups, and system performance monitoring. · Troubleshoot batch jobs, interactive sessions, and database-related issues. · Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AS400 with internal & external applications. · Involves with the setup and configuration of SIT, UAT environment in AS400 and interfacing setup with Oracle and Linux · Prepare and walkthrough functional specifications with requestors / Business users, Prepare Technical design specs · Ensure that documentation is captured, maintained, understood by and available to business and/or IT partners · Escalate critical technical issues and potential problems as needed to the Team Lead/Project Manager to address any related issues in advance of deadlines Should able to communicate with users and support their queries
Key Domain/ Technical Skills: · Proficiency in RPG (RPGLE, RPG IV), COBOL, CL (Control Language), and SQL. · Proficiency inAS400 Library & file setup · Knowledge ofDB2 for i (IBM DB2 database on AS400). · User profile and authority management. · Backup and recovery processes · Performance tuning and system optimization. · Debugging issues using STRDBG and job logs. · Analysing system performance and identifying bottlenecks. · Handling job failures and implementing process improvements. · DevOps, Control-M
