Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Perform second-level review and analysis of trade transactions, remittances, cheques, cash and other transactions to identify AML/CFT concerns and provide compliance recommendations or escalation approval.

• Review and investigate post-transaction monitoring alerts, conducting further analysis where required.

• Identify suspicious activities/transactions and ensure timely escalation and regulatory reporting.

• Provide transaction monitoring advisory to Business Units and Operations and support transaction escalations.

• Conduct daily/monthly AML checks, including internal lists, high-risk country lists, watchlist reports and transaction escalations.

• Support KYC reviews, audit requests, document reviews and compliance reporting/statistics.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MAS AML/CFT requirements, sanctions, TBML red flags, financial crime typologies and industry developments.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support other compliance initiatives or ad hoc assignments.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Banking, Business, Law, Accounting or related discipline.

• 3–5 years of financial services experience, including at least 2 years in AML/CFT Compliance, Transaction Monitoring and investigations.

• Experience in trade-related ECDD and transaction due diligence is preferred.

• Good knowledge of MAS Notice 626, AML/CFT requirements, sanctions and investigation practices.

• Strong analytical and investigative skills with a meticulous approach to transaction reviews.

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document analysis, recommendations and investigation findings.

• Hands-on, independent and proactive, with good stakeholder management and teamwork skills.
