Job Description

There's no such thing as a "safe system" - only safer systems. Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions and technical security issues.

As a Senior Security Developer on our team, you will conduct in-depth research on threat groups, their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and the malware they employ. You will utilize Google's powerful internal intelligence platforms, to model threat activity and generate actionable insights. You will have close collaboration with various teams to develop and implement effective countermeasures, contributing directly to threat disruption and enhancing our collective security posture.   • Build replicable frameworks, activation principles, and playbooks for implementation across YouTube Marketing in service of business impact, agility and speed-to-market.
  • Partner with Editorial and Campaign teams to implement social strategies that fuel healthy always-on channels and tentpole activations. Partner with regional teams to scale globally and support local implementation.
  • Drive initiative social strategy and thought-leadership in collaboration with campaign leads for priority product areas.
  • Partner with analysts to track social performance, develop recommendations to optimize in real-time, applying learnings to future campaigns, and reporting on impact.
  • Collaborate with Google Brand Studio to surface YouTube performance insights and extract actionable learnings from across the wider business.

Qualifications Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in social marketing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing and executing data-driven social strategies and playbooks for global brands.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with various stakeholders and teams.
  • Experience identifying and analyzing relevant data to inform decision-making and tailor storytelling to internal stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in social platforms, content formats, and algorithmic trends, including the YouTube ecosystem, creators and culture. Experience managing paid social campaigns.
  • Strong autonomy in leading global projects with multiple stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
