Job Description

About Allocate Allocate is building the intelligent private markets investing infrastructure for the wealth channel. We provide RIAs, family offices, and institutional allocators with a modern operating system for discovering, accessing, and managing private market investments — spanning curated fund access, GP fund solutions, and portfolio intelligence. We are building an AI-native product platform that powers both firm-level operating systems and client-facing experiences. Our goal is not to layer AI onto workflows, but to fundamentally improve how wealth advisors and asset managers make decisions and execute work in private markets.

About the Role This is a foundational product leadership role responsible for defining and executing the vision for Allocate’s OS platform and Fund Solutions product line. You will own the firm-facing operating system used by RIAs, family offices, and allocator teams, as well as the client-facing experience that powers how advisors deliver private markets to their end clients. You are responsible for product strategy, platform coherence, and execution velocity across a critical surface area of the business, not just a feature area. You will operate at the intersection of wealth advisory firms (CIOs, advisors, operations teams), asset managers / fund managers distributing into the wealth channel, and internal teams across Product, Engineering, Data, Investments, and Client Success.

What You’ll Own

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own the roadmap for Allocate’s OS platform and Fund Solutions products
  • Translate company strategy into clear product direction and prioritized initiatives
  • Ensure a cohesive product experience across firm-facing and client-facing surfaces

AI-Native Product Development

  • Design AI-powered product experiences that deliver:
  • Actionable insights (not just reporting)
  • Workflow automation and execution support
  • Intelligent recommendations grounded in high-quality data
  • Partner closely with Data and Engineering to ensure the data layer enables reliable AI outputs and product functionality
  • Rapidly prototype and validate ideas using modern AI tooling

End-to-End Product Execution

  • Own the full product lifecycle from concept to launch across complex, multi-surface initiatives
  • Drive tight feedback loops between clients, product, and engineering
  • Operate with a strong bias toward shipping — compressing timelines without sacrificing quality

Client & Market Understanding

  • Develop deep empathy for:
  • RIA advisors, CIOs, and operations teams
  • Fund managers navigating wealth distribution
  • Translate domain complexity (capital calls, fund structures, reporting, liquidity) into intuitive product experiences
  • Engage directly with clients to validate hypotheses and refine product direction

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the connective layer across Product, Engineering, Data, Investments, and Client Success
  • Drive alignment on priorities, tradeoffs, and execution plans
  • Elevate product thinking and standards across the organization

Platform & Data Partnership

  • Partner with Data and Platform teams to ensure:
  • Data integrity supports both product functionality and AI use cases
  • Product needs inform platform evolution and data architecture
  • Recognize that product quality and data quality are inseparable

Performance & Outcomes

  • Define and track product KPIs tied to:
  • Client adoption and engagement
  • Workflow efficiency gains
  • Revenue and product utilization
  • Use data, experimentation, and user feedback to continuously refine the product

Where You’ll Drive Impact Defining the System: Transform fragmented private markets' workflows into a unified operating platform Connect fundraising, onboarding, portfolio management, reporting, and servicing into a cohesive system used daily by wealth advisory firms. Embedding Intelligence into Workflows: Make AI a core part of how users operate, delivering insights, recommendations, and execution leverage directly within workflows. Build for a Two-Sided Ecosystem and design deeply for both sides of the platform:

  • Wealth advisory firms (CIOs, advisors, operations teams)
  • Fund managers distributing into the wealth channel

Use modern AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Cursor, v0, Claude, etc.) in your day-to-day work to design flows, prototype experiences, generate specs, and accelerate iteration — setting the standard for how product teams leverage AI to move faster and build better products. Driving Better Decisions & Faster Execution Increase the speed and quality of decision-making across the platform, reducing friction, surfacing the right information at the right time, and enabling users to move from insight to action seamlessly. Leading with Hypothesis-Driven Product Development Frame product decisions as clear hypotheses grounded in user insight and data. Rapidly test, measure, and iterate using both quantitative signals and qualitative patterns, establishing tight feedback loops that continuously improve product outcomes. Raising the Bar on Product Velocity & Quality Improve how the product organization ships, i.e., tightening feedback loops, increasing iteration speed, and maintaining a high standard of product thinking and execution. Building a Scalable Platform Foundation Ensure the platform evolves into a durable, extensible system where new products, workflows, and AI capabilities can be layered without fragmentation or rework.

Who You Are Experience:

  • 8–12+ years in product management, with meaningful experience in:
  • Private markets / alternative investments
  • Wealth advisory platforms, fintech, or financial infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of:
  • RIA workflows and decision-making processes
  • Fund structures, capital calls, NAVs, performance reporting, and fund operations
  • Proven experience building and scaling complex, multi-sided platforms
  • You are a builder, not a maintainer; you’ve created or significantly evolved products or systems
  • Strong product intuition combined with structured thinking and execution discipline
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels simultaneously
  • Hands-on with modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, v0, etc.) and actively use them to:
  • Prototype product experiences
  • Generate specs, flows, and requirements
  • Accelerate iteration and decision-making
  • Strong communicator who aligns stakeholders without slowing teams down
  • Bias toward action with strong judgment on tradeoffs

Skills & Approach:

  • Strong intuition for where AI creates real user value vs. noise
  • You are curious and experimental. You test new tools and bring what works into the team
  • You don’t wait for Engineering to validate ideas; you build and pressure-test them yourself first
  • You frame product work as testable hypotheses, not feature requests
  • You combine quantitative data and qualitative insight to inform decisions
  • You are comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and refining them quickly
  • You establish clear success metrics upfront and iterate based on real-world feedback
  • You optimize for learning velocity, not just delivery velocity
  • You maintain high ownership and accountability
  • Thrive in ambiguity and create structure where none exists

Culture: We hire people who treat ambiguity as an invitation, not a blocker. They build before being asked, communicate without being prompted, and raise the floor of everyone around them.

  • Builder mindset: You create systems where none exist
  • Client obsession: Every product decision improves the end-user experience
  • Relentless problem-solving: We focus on making things work, not explaining why they won’t
  • AI-first builders: We use AI to improve both what we build and how we build it
  • High ownership: If something is broken, you fix it

Details: Reports to: Chief Product Officer Location: Palo Alto, CA (hybrid) Compensation: $175,000-$210,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, other relevant qualifications specific to the role, internal equity, and market data. Total compensation may include equity and discretionary performance-based bonuses based on individual, team, and company performance factors. Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, responsible time off (RTO), 401(k) Team: No direct reports Allocate is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity of thought, background, and experience.

Why This Role This is a rare opportunity to define the core operating system for private markets in the wealth channel at a company with strong traction, deep domain credibility, and a clear path to category leadership. You’re not inheriting a roadmap, you’re defining one.
